Christmas Eve

Aloha from Hawaii!
It is Christmas eve, and almost 9 o'clock here, so I'm heading to the beach very soon. I think today is the day that Santa comes to Waikiki beach on a catamaran so yeah, I'm pretty excited.
We had THE SLOPPIEST air port trip EVER.
My sister had a pre game for the Dylan "Scarf it Up" social, which I agreed to clean up after, and then cleaned up the house and packed, so I'd be ready to ditch first thing in the morning. After making a brief appearance at the Albert and making a McDonalds run, Emma, Andrew, Derek and I head back to my crib to sleep and do a few chores like emptying the fridge. At 5 am I wake up Maria (who beat me home and was home some mystery time before 2) and she is naked, unpacked and HAMMERED. She somehow lost a pair of heels that we share the night before. After trying to get her shit together in a few minutes while making the crew do some last minute things (take out the garbage etc) we head to the airport-both Maria and Andrew still hammered. Andrew gives Maria a piggy back from the car. They sit at a bench while Derek, Emma and I check the luggage. Andrew waits with Maria while she throws up in a garbage can. We say goodbyes to the best BFFs a girl could ask for, and then I drag Maria through security. She has a textbook on her, which she blames me for, and also a bottle of water and tanning lotion, things that you obviously aren't supposed to have. She passes out while waiting for the plane, and essentially is asleep or bitching about being nauseous for the rest of our trip, but by some miracle didn't throw up on the plane, although she was reaching for the barf bags more than once.

Alright, so, Christmas Eve---my favourite holiday.
I looooove the Santa story so much more than the Jesus story and I love the anticipation of the next day and I think all of my favourite memories as a kid in regards to Christmas are waiting for Santa and trying to catch Santa etc.
So if you're like me, you'll be all stoked on tracking Santa via Norad Santa. He's in Samara, Russia right now, but the most recent video evidence is of him in India:

Questions/Concerns/Problems

I am seriously mourning the end of 2009. And not because I am now tragically old, but because
New Years 2010 marks the end of the 2000's humorous new years glasses:
Also, do you ever get a feeling that something was just made for you? Be it a certain dress with all your current favourite details, OR A TV SHOW MIXING CELEBRITIES AND GHOSTS?
Today there was a marathon of "Celebrity Ghost Stories". Like, how the fuck am I supposed to get any work with that on?

Cosmphobia

The important things I've learned from my Astronomy class that I will now pass on to you, dear reader:
  • "What can science offer instead of the thriller of terror? Counter-intuitive phenomena -Time intertwined with space! (General relativity) -If you know the position of a particle accurately you can not know its speed accurately - Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle (Quantum Mechanics) Without these scientific truths your cell phone would NOT work"
  • Massive Stars live fast & Die Young
  • Black Holes are a region of space-time where the gravitation becomes overwhelming and the curvature of space-time is so great that the space "folds" over itself
  • Outside the event horizon of a black hole, it is possible to move forwards and backwards in space but only forwards in time. In the event horizon of a black hole, it is only possible to move forwards in space, but backwards and forwards in time.
  • The Universe is expanding into nothingness
  • This is a picture of a planetary nebula, a stage for a star the size of the sun:
Isn't it pretty?
I'll just leave you with this little mindfuck:

Be My Study Buddy

Hey kids,
I know for most of us, school as been mostly torturous, awful hell. Luckily, arts students like myself, usually get a bit of a break around December finals (I only have two exams, some friends have even fewer). I mean, a few weeks ago I was this crying, over worked, under-slept shadow of the vibrant youth I was in the summer, but it seems like a fair trade as those science nerds whip out there sweat pants and zoloft while I get a head start on my Christmas baking.
I think most people have pretty set study habits (I like to cozy up in Fletcher with my laptop, some disney/60s French/Classical music with a grande non fat white mocha americano misto), and I know for a lot of us that includes wasting a lot of time on the internet. So, I present to you, my new favourite waste of time, Jedward.
These two 17 year old twins from Dublin were competitors on the X Factor, which is a UK singing competition created by Simon Cowell, with many more bells & whistles than Idol. The talent seems to be less, but it's so much more fun. Fiercest bitch on earth Cheryl Cole is a judge, so, yeah.
These two idiots made quite a splash in the UK this year, because they are AMAZING.
Unfortunately, they're out of the competition.
Let us mourn.
Here they are doing Queen Britney:

And here they are doing one of my personal all time favourite songs:

I'm dieing. I'm dead. I died.

This is the best thing I've ever Seen

I die.
Enjoy worshipping Godga (our divine lord in heaven) tomorrow Mr. Pull Teeth Andrew Chipman & Guns at Home Stefanie Jizzney.
We miss you two!!
